Teenage girl's body found stashed in gunny bag in Jhang after suspected rape

JHANG: The body of a teenage girl was found stashed in a bori (gunny bag) here near Sufi Morr, local police confirmed, as her bereaved family said they suspected she had been raped before murder.

The family of the 13-year-old, who claimed that the teen had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted before being killed, protested in the locality, demanding that the perpetrators of the heinous crime be arrested immediately.

Jhang police said the young girl had left home early morning to go for studies but did not return and that her body was recovered a few hours later, stuffed inside a gunny bag. The body was moved to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital for post-mortem, they added.

According to police, the 13-year-old was strangled to death; however, they added that the truth would only be ascertained after the final post-mortem report was released.
