Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday, according to Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor.
According to the DG ISPR, the army chief discussed matters related to regional security and bilateral issues with the Iranian president.
The Iranian president appreciated the role of Pakistan towards regional peace and lauded the success of Pakistan Army against terrorism, he added in a tweet.
The COAS is currently on an official visit to Iran, where he met his Iranian counterpart upon arrival on Monday.
