Sindh High Court acquits man accused of murdering MQM leader Manzar Imam

Prosecution was not able to provide substantial evidence to uphold the charges against the accused

The murderer of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Manzar Imam was acquitted on Friday by  the Sindh High Court (SHC) after he filed an appeal against his judgment by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) .

The court said that prosecution was not able to provide substantial evidence to uphold the charges against accused Muhammad Ashiq .

It should be noted that Ashiq and four others were charged with the murder and sentenced to death by the ATC.

Manzar Imam along with his gunman and driver were killed in Orangi Town, Karachi in 2013.
