Pak-China Free Trade Agreement’s second phase comes into effect

Pakistani manufacturers and traders can now export over 300 products on zero duty to China as the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement’s second phase has come into effect, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

According to the details, Islamabad and Beijing have completed all the legal formalities to implement the agreement.

The protocol for implementation of the agreement was signed by the two countries during Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to China.

Pakistan already enjoys zero duty on export of 724 products to China under the first free trade agreement signed between the two countries in 2006.

The major products on which tariff has been eliminated are textiles, garments, seafood, meat, other animal products, prepared food, leather, chemicals, plastics, oilseeds, footwear as well as engineering goods including tractors, auto parts, and home appliance machinery.
