PESHAWAR: Chief Executive, Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO), Mohammad Wali has directed the field officers for making all out efforts for reduction of line loses and try their best to prevent fatal accidents, saying technical staff would be provided all safety instruments.
He issued these directives while presiding a meeting of Superintendent Engineers (S.Es) held here at WAPDA House Peshawar the other day.
The meeting was held to analyze the pace of progress on reduction of line losses, recovery and provision of facilities to the customers. Chief Engineer (Operation) Abdul Latif Khan, Chief Engineer (Technical) Hanan Khan and Chief Engineer Planning Gul Mohammad Khan and all Superintending Engineers of PESCO Circles attended the meeting.
Chief Executive PESCO, Mohammad Wali expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of few divisions and sub divisions and directed the concerned officials to improve their performance otherwise they would be taken to the task. He said that there is no place for inefficient and dishonest persons in PESCO.
Chief Executive PESCO warned that the officers and officials who fail to achieve the given targets would not be spared. He directed the field officers to increase the recovery by 100 percent.
Referring the continued energy crisis in the country, Chief Executive PESCO said that due to change in climate the usage of electricity has increased resultantly PESCO has to carry out load-shedding for 7 to 8 times in 24 hours throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He directed field officer to create public awareness for energy conservation and use all means to get public cooperation so that maximum energy could be saved, because over loading also cause of damage of distribution transformers.
He directed the technical staff to adopt all safety measures to prevent fatal accidents during work .He directed that all kinds of safety instruments would be provided to the technical staff and safety seminars must be arranged for the awareness of technical staff.
He urged the technical staff to follow the safety code and safety policy for their own safety. On the increasing ratio of damaging of distribution transformers Chief Executive PESCO said that to prevent the damaging of distribution transformers, the system should be made balanced on all of three phases, adding that the consumers should also avoid illegal use of electricity as over loading is the main cause of damaging of transformers.
Earlier, S.Es gave comprehensive presentations, regarding the line losses, recovery and pace of developmental works in their respective circles.
Chief Executive PESCO directed all officers to use their energies for the betterment of the company and reduce line losses and enhance recovery as per target already given to them.
