Istanbul: Turkey's largest city struck by powerful 4.8-magnitude earthquake

Initial reports state no loss of life or property has occurred

ISTANBUL: A powerful 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey's largest city Saturday, reported international media. 

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said, the earthquake struck 63 kilometres west of the city at 1:48pm. 

Initial reports state no loss of life or property has taken place.
