Countrywide protest against attacks on Jang, Geo offices

KARACHI: Different journalist organizations will protest across the country against the attacks on the offices of Jang and Geo News and the burning of Jang newspapers Saturday, Geo News reported.

A nationalist party of Sindh protested and burnt Jang newspapers in different cities of the province. Protesters also threatened that they would continue to cause hindrance in the delivery of newspapers.

They also attacked the offices of Geo News and caused damage to expensive equipment. Cable operators were also pressured to stop the transmission of Geo News.

An FIR has been lodged in different police stations against the attacks.

Journalist organization will also hold protest rallies across the country and will appeal to the government to take action against the culprits behind these attacks.
