PIMS doctors' strike continues
ISLAMABAD: A complete strike was observed by doctors in the Out-Patient Department (OPD) of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for the 16th consecutive day on Thursday for their demands.

The strike was observed on the appeal of Young Doctors Association (YDA). President of YDA Dr. Sajjid Abbasi, while addressing the doctors' gathering at PIMS on Thursday, said that if the administration failed to address their problem they would stop working at the Emergency Ward.

He said that the YDA Islamabad Chapter was observing strike for not meeting their demands of pay raise and service structure.

He said the doctors only performed duties in the Emergency Ward of the hospital while other services remained closed including the OPDs, operation theaters and other departments.

He said it seemed that authorities were not taking steps for the resolution of doctors' problems and urged them to resolve their demands as early as possible so that doctors could do their job with peace of mind.
