Bahawalpur man douses wife, mother-in-law in acid allegedly over 'domestic spat'

BAHAWALPUR: A man doused his wife and mother-in-law in acid allegedly over a domestic spat here in the district's Ahmedpur East city, police confirmed on Wednesday.

According to police, the women sustained burn wounds and were immediately shifted to the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital after the incident, which occurred in Muhalla Sarwar Shah. The suspect could not be caught as he escaped, they said.

A first information report (FIR) was registered at the City Ahmedpur East police station.

Men rape minor in Kasur district

A day earlier, a group of men had coerced and allegedly raped a minor boy in Kasur's Chunian district, according to police, who had said a medical report confirmed that the sexual assault took place.

The three alleged rapists — who subjected the 12-year-old to sexual abuse in a plant nursery in Nainwal — were yet to be caught, police had said, adding that a case was filed over the rape on behalf of the survivor's grandfather.
