SHO among 3 shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA: Unknown armed men attacked and shot dead three police personnel including a senior police official on Sariab road of the provincial capital on Sunday.

"Station House Officer PS New Sariab Manzoor Tareen along with other police personnel in official vehicle was on patrolling duty on Sariab road when unidentified gunmen ambushed and shot them dead," DIG Operation Hamid Shakeel told media persons.

The armed men riding a bike targeted the police vehicle when it reached in Killi Shahnawaz area, the DIG Operation said.

The attackers managed to escape.

The law enforcement personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off the entire area to trace the assailants out.

The police evacuated the bodies to hospital morgue.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The police were looking into the incident.
