CDGK finalizes August 14 arrangement
KARACHI: District Coordination Officer Karachi Mohammad Hussain Syed Tuesday said that carrying any kind of weapon inside the boundary of Quaid's mausoleum will be strictly prohibited on 14 August, the day of independence.

He added that the on duty police guards will also not be allowed to carry it as well.

This was decided in a meeting held at DCO office attended by all the Executive District Officers of City Government, all town administrators, and representative of Pakistan Army, Navy, Mazar-e-Quaid's Management Board, Police and Cantonment Board while director protocol government of Sindh was also present on this occasion.

Meeting was told that a total of 330 huge poles had been erected by CDGK at various points along Shara-e-Faisal and Shahra-e-Quaideen up to Quaid-e-Azam's mausoleum where Pakistan's national flag will be hoisted.

Various decisions were taken on this occasion regarding assigning duties to departments and measures to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner.

The meeting decided the Governor and the Chief Minister of Sindh will host the national flag at 9 am at Mazar-e-Quaid on the Independence Day.

All the flags, posters and banners will be removed at Shara-e-Faisal and Shahra-e-Quaideen and only national flag will be hoisted there.

The mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah will remain closed on 13th August for public due to administrative works. The mausoleum will be opened for public at 11a.m on 14th August.

DCO Karachi said 14th August was the most important day for the nation and in order to celebrate this day in a befitting manner a comprehensive program should be devised with the coordination of all the EDOs and other civic organizations. (PPI)
