Buzdar launches 'Stay Home, Stay Safe' campaign to promote coronavirus awareness

Buzdar says provincial government will spread awareness regarding COVID-19 in Punjab, with 4,130 bikes

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday launched a "Stay Home, Stay Safe” campaign to promote awareness among the people regarding the novel coronavirus.

Initially, under the campaign, 250 motorcycles and 50 rickshaws would reach every street and town of Lahore, as well as across Punjab, to create awareness regarding COVID-19.

Speaking at the inauguration, Buzdar said they would inform every citizen about the precautions to adopt regarding coronavirus in every union council of Lahore. He added that they will use 850 motorcycles and 500 rickshaws to spread awareness specifically in the provincial capital.

“We will spread awareness throughout Punjab with 4,130 motorcycles,” said the CM. He added the motorcycles would distribute pamphlets that would have information regarding coronavirus.

“To avoid coronavirus, the public will have to listen to the instructions being given by the government,” said Buzdar. He added that the Pakistani nation was responsible and he expected that citizens will fulfill their responsibility in such trying times.

Buzdar urged people to adopt social distancing in order to prevent themselves against coronavirus. He said the decision made earlier today would make citizens safe in the future.

“Coronavirus is a big challenge we will defeat it together,” he said.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid and other officials.
