MULTAN: The Independence Day was observed with respect and enthusiasm here on Sunday.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of the country.
The flag hoisting ceremonies were held at High Court Bar, District Bar, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Rescue 1122 office, Akbar Road Market, different schools, and colleges.
Speakers in ceremonies paid rich tribute to the people who rendered sacrifices for the cause of the country.
In a ceremony held at Akbar Road, trader union representative Idress Butt urged masses to forge unity into their ranks to steer the country out of crisis.
At Bahauddin Zakariya University, speakers including Waqar Ahmed Qureshi, Professor Dr Asghar Ali, Professor Dr Shahida Begum Niazi and others paid glowing tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement.
A large number of people rushed to different parks especially Madni Park, Shah Shammas Park, and Askary Lake Park to enjoy the day. (APP)
