FAISALABAD: A family of five was found butchered in the area of Batala Colony Police Station Faisalabad here on Sunday.
According to police, Sardar Muhammad Khawar (40) along with his family was residing at the second floor of a house in Street No.1 Raja Chowk, Waris Pura area of Batala Colony.
The family had shifted from Multan to Faisalabad three months ago and started a flowerpottery business.
The tragedy unfolded after Khawar’s house, which was locked for the last few days, started to reek of rot.
When police, prompted by a number of complaints, finally crashed their way into the house, they found the whole family slaughtered in a pool of congealed blood.
The victims were identified as Sardar Muhammad Khawar, his wife Saleema Bibi (35), daughters --Javairia (5) and Fareeha (2)-- and son Muhammad Ahmad (1.5).
Police sent the dead bodies to the Allied Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
A police spokesman told newsmen, a sharp-edged tool was used to slit the throats of the family members, adding the murders may have been carried out about 48 hours ago.
Muhammad Shafique, brother of the deceased Sardar Muhammad Khawar, told the police they have no enmity with anyone inside or outside the family.
The RPO claimed evidences were being collected and thereafter it would be determined whether this incident was an outcome of enmity, robbery or an act to terrorize people at large. (APP)
