KASUR: According to the flood control centre, 47,000 cusecs of water is present in the Sutlej river which is expected to rise. Several villages in the area are inundated and despite repeated call by the district administration, people are not vacating their homes. Flood effectees say their crops have been destroyed and machinery is under threat. They have appealed to the government to help them with their losses.
DCO Kasur, Syed Arshad Hussain toured the flood affected areas and said that camps have been set up in eight locations which will be operational 24 hours.
However people complain that the district administration should stop making false claims about providing relief to affected areas and take concrete measures to solve their problems.
