HYDERABAD: Four 4 mega development works worth Rs.620 million have been proposed for the improvement and beautification of Qasimabad Taluka with provision of efficient drainage system.
This was informed in a meeting regarding implementation on new Hyderabad Development Package approved at the total cost of Rs.1000 million to undertake other development schemes of previous package at main DCO office, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad on Tuesday. DCO Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo presided over the meeting where Shafi Lakho from RCC Consultants briefed the meeting about proposed development works.
DCO said that Rs.620 million out of Rs.1000 million have been allocated in current financial year. He said that for the utilization of this allocated amount 4 schemes have been proposed which include construction of Interchange between Hyderabad bypass and Wadhu Wah road including underpass at the cost of Rs.239.407 million, construction of Bricks Lined RCC Sewer (BLIS) as part of master plan at the cost of Rs.228.715 million, construction of Cement concrete roads over constructed BLIS at Rs.51.663 million and construction of storm water collection drain for Auto Bhan road at the cost of Rs.67.923 million.
He said that Rs.5.877 million have been spared for consultancy charges for survey, plan, design, PC-I while Rs.8.816 million has been placed for consultancy charges for supervision, preparation of tender documents and tender evaluation. Similarly Rs.11.754 million would be spent on contingency charges of the project, whereas Rs.5.877 million would be utilized for the third party validation charges. He said that these schemes would shortly be submitted to the forum concerned for necessary approval.
He said that after completion of these schemes, the communications and sewerage problems of Qasimabad would be permanently resolved. He said that a new system of BLIS is being introduced for laying efficient and durable sewerage system at the par of modern countries.
DCO directed the officers concerned to expedite on-going development works in Qasimabad and make the dug roads motor-able. He also directed them to remove encroachments and building material and heaps of garbage from the roads not only to ensure beautification but also smooth flow of traffic. He also directed officers to identify other development schemes in the district with the consultation of stakeholders.
MD WASA Shafiq Arain, representatives of RCC Consultants and other officers attended the meeting.
