Pakistani-American economist Asim Ijaz Khwaja has hailed the Sindh government’s efforts in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
In a Twitter post on Thursday, Khawaja said, “Very impressed by the Sindh team and grateful to CM Murad Ali Shah for sharing time – Shehzad Roy could also be of great help by further spreading public health messaging.”
Khawaja is an internationally-acclaimed economist and professor of public policy at Harvard Kennedy School.
The economist’s response came after singer/activist Roy had tweeted a picture of the Sindh chief minister hosting a virtual conference with Khawaja and other prominent experts.
“Great to see these minds Asim Ijaz Khwaja, Saba Gul, Tania Aidrus and others come together to help us fight COVID-19. CM Murad Ali Shah’s openness to input to adapt+improve strategy is reassuring and much-needed. Hope Murtaza Wahab can continue this exchange so government can continue to improve response,” he tweeted.

The Sindh government has been lauded for it's proactive approach towards coronavirus which has taken certain bold steps in order to contain the spread of the virus.
Chief Minister Murad Ali also won praise from Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudry last month.
"Some provincial governments have played a dynamic role but some did not; in this regard, Sindh government remained the most proactive," Chaudhry had said in a Geo News programme.
"This is why the Sindh chief minister deserves appreciation and I commend his efforts. I congratulate him on that," he added.
