Strategy evolved for purchase of medicines
HYDERABAD: The Medical Superintendent Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad/Jamshoro, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Abbasi, has informed that a comprehensive strategy has been evolved to purchase standardized medicines for Hyderabad and Jamhsoro hospitals.

Addressing the hospital administration committee here on Saturday, he said that on the directives of Sindh Secretary Health, the purchase of quality medicines would be ensured in order to avoid any consequence while prescribing the medicines to patients of the hospital.

He informed that efforts are being made to control dengue virus in effective manner and in this regard, an isolation ward for treatment of dengue affected persons has already been established in the hospital with storage of sufficient quantity of medicines. Besides, all arrangements have also been made to provide treatment of waterborne diseases during the rainy season, he added.

The Medical Superintendent informed that meals are being provided to patients according to advices of concerned doctors and it was first ever in the history of the hospital that schedule is being implemented according to suggestion of doctors.

He informed that the hospital management has also prepared a schedule of duty of the doctors and paramedical staff and now strict action would be initiated against those who failed to maintain punctuality in their duty.
