RAWALPINDI: Executive District Officer (EDO) Municipal Services Imtiaz Ahmed Malik said on Monday that cleanliness campaign has been started in a bid to keep the city neat and clean.
In a statement issued here, EDO said that cleanliness of the streets must be ensured on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr adding that negligence will not be tolerated in this regard. He directed to put the lime along drains in streets to kill the germs for protecting the citizens from the diseases and making sure the mosquitoes spray in the localities, he added.
Imtiaz said that the staff would perform their duties honestly and dedicatedly.
He ordered the sanitary inspectors to collect the garbage of heaps on daily basis and fit their vehicles to lift the garbage on time. EDO said that the cleanliness of Eid Gahs must be completed before the Aug 28.
