Govt has decided to go after terrorists in Khi: PM

KARACHI: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Monday said the government has decided to launch a crackdown on terrorists in Karachi and warned that if the government failed to act now someone else will, Geo News reported

The Premier soon after arriving in Karachi held a meeting with Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Governor House and discussed the aggravating law and order situation in the city besides political matters relating to the province.

Later, the Prime Minister presided over a high-level meeting held here at Chief Minister House. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Home Minister Manzoor Wasan, Chief Secretary and officials of law enforcing institutions attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister linked the stability of the country with that of Karachi and that all possible resources will be brought into use for restoring its peace. Measures will also be taken to ensure security of traders and industrial areas, he added.

Later, chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet, the Prime Minister said the government had decided to launch a crack down on terrorists.
