ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE-10) witnessed bullish trend here on Thursday as the index moved up by 01.25 points to close at 2350.82 as compared to previous day's trading.

Senior Equity Dealer, Ismail Iqbal Pvt Ltd, Zaheer Ahmed told news agency that the boost after gold declined and due to this, investments were shifted from gold to stocks.

He said that despite this, the low participation of investors took steam out of volume because most of them were busy in Eid activities.
He further said that Lotte Pakistan PTA Limited (LOTPTA) remained the favorite scrip as it announced its 1st Half 2011 earning per share of Rs2.44 as compared to an earning per share of Rs1.44 last year, showing a significant improvement of 69 percent.

According to National Clearing Company of Pakistan (NCCPL), Foreign Investors Portfolio Investment (FIPI) had taken positions in the markets worth $0.947 million.

An analyst said that the resumption of stability in commercial hub of the country created positive atmosphere in the local stock markets.
He said net selling was witnessed in fertilizer sector because data released by National Fertilizer Development Center (NFDC) for the month of July 2011 showed a 4 per cent decline in the offtake.

In today's trading, 51,510 shares were traded, which were down by 150,138 compared to a day earlier trading.

Out of 97 companies, 32 gained while 65 lost. (APP)
