ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari has submitted two separate adjournment motions at Senate Secretariat, demanding a debate in next Senate session on deteriorating law and order situation of Karachi and Quetta.
Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the two cities, he said that innocent citizens were being murdered in two provincial capitals of the country.
He said the motions further demand that routine proceedings should be stopped so that this important matter could be debated in the Upper House.
He said the situation in Karachi and Quetta seems beyond the control of the government and it is worsening day by day. Innocent poor people are being killed in the name of ethnic and sectarian violence, he added.
He said that during the Holy month of Ramadan the people arebeing killed fearlessly and ruthlessly, adding that every person in the country was worried about Karachi and Quetta situation.
He said despite several commitments and pledges the provincial governments have failed to maintain writ of the government.
He said the people are feeling themselves insecure, while the country's economy is affecting due to the incidents of violence.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari called upon the government to deal the criminals and miscreants with iron hands, ensure writ of the government and protect the lives and properties of the people.
