3 soldiers killed in Chitral check posts attack
PESHAWAR: At least three soldiers of Chitral Scouts were killed and many others wounded when militants from the Afghanistan side attacked border checkpoints in northern Chitral district Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to local sources, a large number of militants launched pre-dawn attacks on several posts with rockets and heavy weapons in the area.

Several rockets landed on the camps of ''Chitral Scouts'' and killed three soldiers. Several others were injured.

Pakistani forces also returned fire and inflicted heavy casualties on the militants, reports said.

The local sources told that the Taliban attacked Pak-Afghan border checkpoints including Arson, Dameel Nisar, Bodebar and Mirkani.

The militants have blocked Arando Road near Pakistani border area of Bodebar that is causing difficulty to Scouts forces in retaliation, sources added.

Chitral borders Afghanistan's Badakhshan province.
