Govt paving way for fall of Karachi: JI

PESHAWAR: Amir Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan Sunday predicted that the result of an army operation in Karachi would not be different from fall of Dhaka and that the government seemed to be paving way for the same, Geo News reported.

Addressing an Eid Milan Party held under the auspices of JI, Hassan said an army operation would lead to extra-judicial killings in Karachi which would give rise to a situation similar to the one witnessed during fall of Dhaka.

"The government is paving way for fall of Karachi and Balochistan," Munawar Hassan alleged.

He said the Army Chief had announced that operation in Balochistan would be ended but after lapse of three moths no action has been taken in this regard.

On the statements issued by Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza, he said the People's Party should do some introspection and the Supreme Court should also make use of the information available with Dr. Mirza and Agha Siraj Durrani.
