Altaf Hussain tries to threaten SC: Mehanti

KARACHI: Jamat e Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said that Altaf Hussain tried to threaten Supreme Court during latter's video conference. He said that MQM Chief did not respond to the allegation levelled against him.

Addressing a press conference in Idara e Noor ul Haq here, Mehanti said that Altaf tried to distort facts by using false tactics. He said that shameful allegation was levelled against JI over May 12 carnage.

He sought answer from MQM regarding killings of Imran Farooq and Wali Khan Baabr. He asked whether killers of Imran Farooq and Wali Khan Babar belonged to MQM or not.

JI Karachi Ameer said that Altaf Hussain should have to answer the allegations levelled against them by Dr Zulfiqar Mirza by keeping Holy Quran on his hand in the same way as latter did.

He asked Altaf Hussain to tell the nation if his (Altaf's) party vowed to US or not that they would hatch conspiracy for the country's division.

Mehanti said that his party was never involved in extortion and killings.
