Chairman China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said that bidding has begun for the construction of a road from Zhob to Kuchlak, Radio Pakistan reported on Sunday.
The national broadcaster quoted Bajwa as saying that the project is "part of the Western route of CPEC and is a dire need of the people of Balochistan".
Taking to Twitter, Bajwa said the Dera Ismail Khan-Zhob section of the project is being processed for the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on CPEC for Chinese funding and on completion, Islamabad and Quetta will be connected through the expressway as per plan.
Last week, the premier's aide had said that the Kohala Power and Azad Pattan power projects will generate 8,000 jobs and an investment of $4 billion over the years after Pakistan and China signed an agreement for the construction of the Azad Pattan hydel power project as part of the CPEC project.
