RAWALPINDI: Chairman Monitoring Committee for dengue virus Muhammad Hanif Abbassi MNA said on Thursday that on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Anti-dengue virus spray campaign was being done continuously, 23- union councils of 46 union councils had been sprayed so far.
Information Counters about dengue virus patients had been established in all three teaching hospitals of Rawalpindi. The awareness campaign had been started in which the literature about the safety measures of dengue virus being distributed in every famous Chowk of Rawalpindi.
Elected representatives and health department officials so that citizens could take the preventive measures to safe themselves from the attack of this virus. He said this while distributed pamphlets and hand bills to the commuters at 6th Road, chowk Murree Road, Rawalpindi with additional Medical Superintended Benazir Bhutto Hospital Dr.Bashir Malik, Focal Person Dr.Fouzia , D.O. Health Dr.khalid Randhawa, Incharge Dengue Virus Spray Campaign Dr.Ansir Ishaq, officers of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
Muhammad Hanif Abbassi said that joint efforts of concern department were required to curb dengue virus to make spray in all towns of the district by TMAs of District and Health department.
All elected representatives were assisting the departments to save the people of their respective areas from dengue virus attack.
Replying to a question Hanif Abbassi said that the distribution of awareness literature amongst the masses was not a political drama but to serve the community by informing them about preventive measure against this diseases. All MNAs and MPAs were involved in this campaign, he added.
