RAWALPINDI: The managements of six private hospitals have offered beds, diagnostic and treatment facilities for the dengue virus patients in order to supplement the efforts being made by Government Teaching Hospitals of Rawalpindi.
This offer was made in a meeting held here in the office of Chief Executive Allied Hospitals which was jointly chaired by Chairman Monitoring Committee for dengue virus, MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar.
The meeting was attended by Principal Rawalpindi Medical College/Chief Executive Allied hospitals Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Farooqi, MS, HFH Capt. (R) Muhammad Fayyaz, CEO Bilal Medical Centre, Col. (R) Gohar Nawaz, Manager Ahmed Medical complex Sadiqabad Manzoor Ahmed and other officials of the managements of different private hospitals.
Ahmed Medical Complex Sadiqabad affiliated with Islamic Medical and Dental College Islamabad offered 30 beds, Management of Aziz Nursing Home offered 30 beds, Bilal Medical Centre offered 15 beds while Social Security Hospital, IJP Road offered 100 beds.
Likewise Railway hospital offered 16 beds and Islamabad International Medical College Hospital offered 10 beds for the investigation and treatment of dengue virus patients of Rawalpindi division.
Principal, Rawalpindi Medical College Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Farooqi said that government teaching hospitals are making all out efforts to cope with the situation but in case, the patients number increases further, the private hospitals services could be utilized.
DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar said that these private hospitals would be included in the plan to fight against dengue virus of City District Government and if required the patients would be referred to these hospitals.
MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi appreciating the gracious offer of managements of private hospitals said that on his appeal, they offered their services while the step would also attract other philanthropists to come forward to supplement the public sector efforts being made in this regard.
