KARACHI: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi has been sent to jail on four-day judicial remand, Geo News reported.
The Rangers had arrested JSQM chief Bashir Qureshi from Gulshan-e-Hadeed with his two accomplices, Sheraz Subhani and Badar-ud-Din on Thursday afternoon.
The Rangers alleged four SMGs, two pistols and several rounds were recovered from his possession. Tension followed in Malir Town and shops were immediately closed in the area after his arrest. The JSQM threatened to call a shutter down strike on Friday if Qureshi was not released immediately.
The police produced them before Judicial Magistrate Abdul Qayum Siddiqui today who discharged the case against co-accused Sheraz Subhani and sent the JSQM chief and other to jail.
The magistrate has summoned Qureshi on September 20.
Speaking to media Qureshi said Interior Minister Rehman Malik was a liar who was only sheltering terrorists. 'We are being sent to jail despite the fact that the licenses of weapons have been presented.'
