FAISALABAD: As many as 265 dengue patients have been reported in Faisalabad so far and 187 out of them have been discharged after proper treatment while 78 are under treatment in Allied and District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals.
This was stated by Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr. AbdurRauf in a briefing here on Friday.
He said that screening of 826 patients was conducted in Allied Hospital and out of them, 200 tests were found positive. Similarly, 125 patients were screened in DHQ Hospital where 5 cases were found positive.
He said that at present 69 dengue patients were under treatment in Allied Hospital while nine were kept in DHQ.
He said that out of total dengue cases, 150 patients belonged to Faisalabad while others were brought here from Lahore, Chiniot, Jhang,Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Hafiz Abad and other districts.
He said that all possible steps are being taken to eliminate the menace of dengue virus from Faisalabad whereas the health department had so far used 52 kits worth Rs 550,000 for the dengue patients.
