Punjab government has constituted a committee to resolve the issues of Lahore, Radio Pakistan reported on Sunday.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, while chairing a meeting in Lahore, said the committee will organise a meeting after fifteen days in which the progress on the resolution of problems will be discussed.

He said a comprehensive plan is being devised to resolve the parking issue in the city.

At least 17 people have been killed and several others injured in rain-related accidents in different parts of Punjab.

According to a rescue team spokesperson, the roof of an old house had collapsed in Ibrahim Colony located in Lahore’s Harbanspura area, killing four people and injuring five others.

Following the incident, rescue workers had rushed to the spot and recovered the two bodies, whereas, seven others were injured – among whom two died during treatment.

Meanwhile, the roof of a house on Muridke Road in Sheikhupura had collapsed, killing two people and injuring seven others.

Moreover, five people, including a woman and four children, were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Mandi Bahauddin's Phalia area.
