KARACHI: Lahore Eagles recorded their third consecutive victory when they easily defeated Quetta Bears by nine wickets in the first match of third day in the Faysal BankTwenty20 Cup 2011 here at the National Stadium on Tuesday.
Qutta Bears batted first after their captain Bismillah Khan won the toss but were bundled out by Lahore Eagles for 125 runs in exact 20 overs.
Their main scorers were Mir Wais (30), Saeed Khan (26) and Abid Ali (22) while three batsmen failed to get into double-figures.
For Lahore Eagles, Junaid Zia, Mustafa Iqbal and Saad Naseem claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Lahore Eagles openers Imran Farhat and Taufiq Umer got their team off to a flying start and both scored half-centuries.
Imran scored 50 off 33 balls with six fours and a six while Taufiq remained unbeaten on 50, made from 49 balls with five boundaries.
With their third consecutive win, Lahore Eagles have become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the National T20 Cup.
