Fumigation campaign starts in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Zahid Saeed on Tueday launched a new fumigation campaign with a new heavy fogging machine purchased by Pothohar Town to eradicate dengue mosquitoes.

DCO Saqib Zafar, Administrator Pothohar Town Talat Mehmood Gondal, Administrator Rawal Town Saif Anwer Jappa, Tehsil Municipal Officers (TMOs) Malik Mumtaz Ahmed, Mian Muhammad Akram and Tehsil Officer Pothohar Town Kamran Khan were also present on this occasion.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed while inaugurating the campaign in Pothohar Town said that a comprehensive plan should be evolved to ensure spray in all union councils of Pothohar Town to safeguard the people from dengue virus.

He said that the ongoing campaign would be more effective and with the new machine big area could be covered within limited time.

Administrator Pothohar Town Talat Mehmood Gondal on this occasion informed that the town had small machines, but now with heavy machine the spray work would be done speedily and the targets would be achieved without any gap as this machine have the capacity of fogging more areas in less time.

He informed that the new machine has been purchased at a cost of Rs.700,000.
