US supports Afghan-led reconciliation process
WASHINGTON: United States support Afghan-led process of reconciliation in, US State Department spokesman said on Tuesday.

State Department Spokesman Victoria Nuland during the daily press briefing said "anybody who is reconciled or who is pursuing reconciliation has to renounce violence, they have to abandon their ties, cut their ties with al Qaida, they have to abide by the laws and the constitution of Afghanistan, including respecting the rights of women and ethnic minorities."

Nuland said that US support an Afghan-led process of reconciliation and the policy in this regard hasn't changed.

She said that first priority of US and Pakistan is to jointly work to eliminate the terrorism.

Spokesman further said that Marc Grossman would visit Pakistan and Afghanistan on October 7 or 8 to discuss a lot of issues with officials of the both countries.
