KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that 81 target killers and 38 extortionists were arrested during recent operation by the Police and Rangers in various parts of Karachi.
"Indiscriminate operation will continue against outlaws to restore peace of the city," he said Wednesday while talking to newsmen at the office of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) to collect and dispatch relief goods for flood affected donated by the Association.
He said that the Rangers and Police have been directed to provide full protection to the business community who were backbone of the economy of the country.
Wassan said that pickets of Rangers and Police were being established at all the sensitive areas of the industrial zones of the metropolis to end lawlessness and eliminate those involved in 'Bhatta culture".
The Home Minister said that he also discussed in detail law and order situation with Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan in his recent meeting at Governor House.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice chairman APTMA, Tariq Masood said that they were sending 10 trucks containing tents and ration bags for flood victims. He said that another consignment of relief goods worth over Rs 50 million will also be dispatched soon to the flood-affected areas. (APP)
