Altaf contacts President, PM

LONDON: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had a telephonic contact with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. During the telephonic conversation both the sides vowed to work together for the strengthening of the democratic process.

President and Prime Minister greeted MQM Chief for rejoining the PPP-led government.

According to the statement issued here from MQM's London Secretariat, Altaf Hussain said that he wanted to extend the alliance between the two parties for generations.

President expressed hope that this alliance would get more strength with the period of time and both the parties would work together for the strengthening of democracy.

Prime Minister's spokesman said that during the conversation between Gilani and Altaf, matters related strengthening of democracy and unity among various other issues were discussed.
