The murder was committed on Saturday morning when Farooq stabbed his two children three-year-old Saba and five-year-old Waheed to death.
The mother Amina bibi said her husband was mentally ill and despite treatment his condition had not improved. Amina added that she did not want her husband to be punished for the crime.
According to the police, it is yet to be determined if Farooq was mentally ill.
