QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani on Saturday presided over a cabinet meeting to review law and order situation in the province.
Home Secretary Balochistan Naseebullah Bazai while briefing the legislators said that Balochistan shares long border with Afghanistan and Iran which was creating law and order situation for the province as anti-peace elements have been using the benefit of the porous border for their ulterior designs.
"We have credible proves of foreign involvement in the unrest of the Balochistan", he told meeting.
Describing the act of terrorism, incidents of target killing and missing person as major issues of the Balochistan, he said that concerted strategy has been evolved to counter these challenges effectively.
He said that law enforcement agencies have busted 48 groups involved in robberies, 44 in target killings and 47 involved in car snatching and kidnapping for ransom across the country.
"As many as 985 people have been sentenced so far while the cases of 875 accused in various crimes were in the courts," Home secretary said.
He told the meeting that registration of Afghan refugees was being carried out on war footings besides the restoration of bio metric system on the Pak-Afghan border was also taken up with the Afghan government.
He said that task force under the guidance of respective Deputy Commissioners have been formed in every district of the province.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani on the occasion said that police and Levis Force would be trained on modern lines. They would be equipped with latest weapons to counter the terror.
Expressing his grave concern over the issue of missing persons in Balochistan, he said that all out efforts were being made to recover them.
Federal government was on board on the issue, he said and adding that due to the concrete steps taken by the incumbent government many missing people have been recovered".
He reiterated that with the help of people of all segments of the society, an effective and comprehensive strategy has been chalked out to restore peace and tranquility in the province.
