Plan afoot to protect Hyderabad from flashfloods: Bhurgari
HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgari has said the government was making a comprehensive plan to prevent Hyderabad from flash floods in the future.

He also inaugurated gas supply to Sehrish Nagar town on the occasion.Bhurgari said clearing drains was important because during rains they become choked as well as sludge obstructs drainage and caused rainwater to stagnate on roads and streets.

"We have called 61 heavy machines from Karachi to expedite the process of cleaning," he informed.

The minister assured that he would transform taluka Qasimabad into a modern urban town.

Responding to a question about the recent meeting of the provincial ministers and MPAs chaired by the chief minister Qaim Ali Shah, Bhurgari said the meeting assured that no bill regarding the local government system would be tabled in the upcoming session of the Sindh Assembly.

"The experts are working over proposals in consultation with the coalition partners and in the interest of the people of the province," he told.
