SAHIWAL: The toll in the Sahiwal boat incident has increased to six after rescue divers resumed search Tuesday and found two more bodies of the victims, Geo News reported.
At least four students lost their lives while 12 went missing after a boat capsized in Lower Bari Doab Canal in Sahiwal on Monday.
According to sources, 32 students of Government College of Technology were present in the boat at the time of incident.
As the boat was packed with passengers beyond its capacity, that is why it overturned in the canal. Some students successfully made their way to the shore while some were saved by the locals.
Rescue officer Dr Zafar said that the lowered water level will help in the rescue operation.
