Mother, daughter killed

LAHORE: A woman and her daughter were killed by unidentified persons at Jhuggi Nagran in Nawankot here on Sunday.

Police said that Muhammad Nawaz slept on the rooftop of his house while his wife Afzal Bibi, 55, and daughter Nighat Bibi, 22, slept in the room. After morning, he came down and knocked at the door of the room but there was no response. Then he opened the door and found them in a pool of blood.

On information, police reached the spot and took the bodies into custody. Later, the bodies were sent to for autopsy.

Police said that Afzal Bibi was strangled while Nighat was murdered by hitting in the head with an iron rod.

Nawaz told police he had no enmity with anyone.

Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started investigation. (APP)
