Garhi Khuda Bux awaits Begum Nusrat Bhutto

SUKKUR: Begum Nusrat Bhutto who passed away at the age of 82 in Dubai will be buried in Garhi Khuda Bux on Monday, Geo News reported.

Her body has arrived in Naudero from Sukkur and was accompanied by Bilawal, Bakhtawar, Asifa and Sanam Bhutto.

President Asif Ali Zardari is expected to arrive in Sukkur by 4 PM and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is also expected shortly.

According to the district administration her funeral prayers will be held at Naudero house. Arrangements have been completed to bury her next to her husband former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Buksh.

PPP workers, politicians and ministers have arrived at Garhi Khuda Buksh to take part in the funeral and strict security measures have been taken including closing the mausoleum for the public.

Begum Nusrat Bhutto has been given the title of ‘mother of democracy’ and the acting president has approved conferment of Nishan-e-Imtiaz award for the former first lady.
