FAISALABAD: The wait continues for Pakistan Railways pensioners here and during the protest, an elderly employee fell unconscious, Geo News reported.
Railways pensioners in Faisalabad have not been paid their dues for the last 3-4 months.
Their pensions have not been paid despite the announcement by the government to provide funds.
Senior pensioners with the hope of receiving their dues are visiting banks on a daily basis.
On the other hand, according to bank officials, they have not been provided the funds from the head office and that is why pensions are not being paid.
Pensioners protested outside the main branch of the National Bank on Thursday and blocked the road. During the protest, an old employee fell unconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
On Wednesday, an ex-railways employee died waiting to be paid on the premises of the Railway Carriage Shops.
