FAISALABAD: The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) has awarded life imprisonment on two counts to two accused involved in a murder and police encounter case of Bhowana police station.
According to the prosecution, police was going to produce murder accused Muhammad Ishaq in the court for his remand when Nausher, son of Humayun, Mipal, son of Noor Akbar, residents of Chak No.158-JB, along with accomplices Muhammad Mansha, Muhammad Akbar, Mazhar Abbas, Shaukat Ali and Suba opened fire and killed Ishaq.
After observing evidence and witnesses, the judge awarded life imprisonment on two counts to Nausher and Mipal.
The convicts were also directed to pay Rs.2 lakh each as fine and compensation. Otherwise, they will have to undergo additional imprisonment of one year each.
The judge acquitted Mazhar Abbas, Shaukat Ali and Suba by giving them the benefit of the doubt while Muhammad Mansha and Muhammad Akbar were declared proclaimed offenders and they would be prosecuted after their arrest. (APP)
