Punjab Blood Line Project starts work
RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed has said that Punjab Government is launching Punjab Blood Line Project under which the work for the registration of blood donors has been started here on Thursday that will continue till November, 3.

He said the blood groups of the donors would be tested and its record be kept by the administration.

In this connection, five camps in three teachings hospitals of Rawalpindi including Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and District Headquarter Hospital as well as in Red Crescent Society and some private clinical laboratories would be set up where the doctors and paramedical staff would be available for the registration and testing of blood groups so that the donors could be called in case of any epidemic disease breaks out or in case of any emergency, he added.

He said this while presiding over a meeting held here in
Commissioner's office which was attended by the Principal Rawalpindi Medical College, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Farooqi, Additional Collector Talat Mehmud Gondal and ACs of all tehsils of Rawalpindi.

The Commissioner informed the meeting that purpose of the Punjab
Blood Line Project was to register a large number of blood donors so that the precious human lives could be saved in case of any emergency. (APP)
