Fire consumes 120 shanties

Karachi: A woman and two children were injured after fire erupted in shanties of Shanti Nagar adjacent to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 19 area, Fire Brigade said.

According to details obtained from the Fire Department, a fire broke out around 12 am in huts of the area.

An official Talib Hussain told that 120 huts were set ablaze while near 2000 others were saved.

He said the fire reduced to ash households and valuables of 120 huts including two bikes.

According to the official reason behind the fire could not be ascertained.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospital by volunteers. (PPI)
