ABBOTTABAD: Ten people including two children, who got trapped in a chairlift over River Dor here, were rescued after nine hours Tuesday, Geo News reported.
According to sources, ten people opted for a chairlift to go towards Desal from Thai area where they got stuck over the river due to technical faults.
Local administration was informed of the incident but due to lack of adequate machinery, the operation could not be started on time.
The rescue team from Murree arrived after seven hours after the administration called for help but even they did not have the proper equipment to rescue the people trapped at high altitude over the river.
The operation took more than nine hours to rescue the people.
It is pertinent to note that chairlift is a common mode of transportation used by the locals but there is no arrangement to resolve such emergencies.
