BHATINDA: World Cup Kabaddi tournament was formally inaugurated in Bhatinda, India. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan performed at the opening ceremony of the second edition of World Cup Kabaddi.
Three matches will be played today. The first match will be played between Australia and Nepal. In the second match, host India will face Germany while the third match will be played between Canada and Afghanistan. Geo Super will telecast all the matches live.
India is hosting World Cup Kabaddi tournament. Fourteen countries including Pakistan are taking part in the competition.
Other participating countries include Argentina, Pakistan, USA, Canada, UK, Italy, Norway, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Germany, Spain and host India.
The World Cup Kabaddi tournament will continue till November 20 in the Indian Punjab.
The final match and closing ceremony would be organised at Ludhiana.
The prize money will Indian Rupees 20 million for the winner, whereas runners-up would get Indian Rs10 million, third place holders would get Rs5.1 million. All participating teams would be given one million rupees.
