Local Government Ordinance expires

KARACHI: Sindh government has halted the notification issued to restore 1979 local government and Commissionerate system in the province, Geo News reported.

The date of Sindh Local Government Ordinance re-promulgated by Sindh Governor expired on November 04.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Sindh has denied issuance of any notification in this regard.

According to sources, after several hours of uncertainty, Services and General Administration department issued two separate notifications on night between November 04 and 05. The notifications were issued after the approval of concerned authorities of Sindh government, the sources added.

Later, the issuance of notification was halted due to lack of confidence of the coalition partner.

The uncertainty is still there over Commissionerate and local government system.
