Worst traffic jam in Quetta as Eid approaches
QUETTA: The provincial capital of Balochistan faced worst ever traffic jam on Saturday as Eid-ul-Adha draws closer.

Despite a major plan chalk out by the traffic police, a large number of vehicles were witnessed stranded at major city intersections including at Meezan Chowk, Mitha Chowk, Jinnah Road and Liaquat bazaar causing incontinence for hundreds.

Long queues were seen at these places and a vehicle took at least 30 to 45 minutes to pass through these intersections.

The worse traffic jam was witnessed at Meezan Chowk from the Mitha chowk. It was prompted by shoppers, rickshaw and taxi drivers as they wrongly parked their vehicles at Liaquat Baazar, the main shopping area of city.

Although, the traffic police chalked out effective plan and opened the number of alternate routes but the stray vehicles destroyed it completely.

The traffic jam delayed the arrival of passengers at railway stations and Airport

However, on the directives of IG police, Rao Amin Hashim the additional contingent of ATF, BC and FC have been deployed at the main markets of the city to cover the hundreds of people converged there for shopping. (APP)
